Advice I give to my clients

Intention. One word that carries a lot of importance.

Intention can completely alter any given scenario. For example - say you’re in recovery from anorexia and you want to eat a salad. If your intention behind this is because you really love salads and are craving one - fantastic! Eat away. However, if your intention is because it is the ‘healthier’ option even though you really feel like something else - not so fantasic. Salad, away.

Or,

Say for instance you’re a chronic people pleaser and someone asks you to pick them up from the airport and you say yes - are you doing this just to please them or do you actually want to pick them up and have to capacity to do so?

Intention behind simple decisions like these can be the difference between recovering and not recovering. However, they require you to be annoyingly honest with yourself.

When you are honest with yourself about your intentions, you have the chance to make a better choice - one that is in line with where you want to be in your life.

So, start asking yourself, “what is my intention behind this?”.
